Manual Exposure Week
Photocritic has a challenge for this week: Manual Exposure Week.
Shooting in Manual mode isn’t new to me, for years I used a camera where it was the only available mode, but lately, specially since moving to digital, I’ve become more lazy and started letting the camera to choose things for me. Nowadays I mostly use Aperture Priority mode and very rarely go fully manual, but I hope this little challenge will make me go back to the basics.

Catchin’ up
A new desktop meant lots of photos waiting to be processed, tonight was finally time catch up the delayed work, starting with my daily project.
One photo a day
A new year has started and I started it with a personal challenge: take a photo a day, each and every day throughout of the year. For now the first month of the year has ended and so far I’ve kept it my plan, now I only have eleven months to go.
Shadow and rain drops
Rainy and foggy days aren’t good reasons for not going outside, with that in mind today I went for some photos around Gincho for my second proper photo shoot of the year.
And sometimes, despite “shooting” tons of photos, it’s the first one captures the essence of the day. This one is such a case.
My best shots of 2008
I took Jim Goldstein’s challenge and browsed my 2008 photos to pick the best ones. I had a handful of pleasing photos, but in the end there were these two obvious winners:
For capturing the roaring waves of the Atlantic Ocean in the black sands of southern Iceland.
First photo shoot of the year
The first photo shoot of the year, and what an amazing day I got!
Time for more spooky photos
Last Sunday was another winter, cloudy, rainy day, which means time to go out and take dark, ghostly photos in Sintra.

Sintra by dusk
Cruising around Sintra by dusk in a rainy and foggy day, which probably is the best time to see it.
